WOW! The new Gibson 491T Bridge Pickup! Like a smoother Explorer 500T...

A review on http://theguitarreview.com is coming on this pickup! Stay tuned!!!!!!!

A new pickup variety from Gibson! A ceramic bridge humbucker that's meant to crunch nicely, but not quite the out-and-out rawk of an Explorer 500T. It does a great job. You can play almost smoothly if you finger pick lightly, but the pickup is SUPER-responsive when you dig in to the strings. You can't quite get a clean tone out of these (like the 498T and 500T), but you sure can rock!

Gibson '57 Classic in Shiny GOLD! Neck Humbucker Pickup from my Reverse Flying V

This is the creamiest thing since the originals. Wow. Just love these. I have a few different vintages, so the newer ones are on their way to eBay... This particular neck pickup is the smoothest thing I've played in a LONG time!

GFS Lil Puncher Humbucking pickup for Telecaster or Stratocaster

This pickup did very nicely. Quiet, 7 kOhms or so, very clear voice. Nice and loud in a vintage sort of way. A great way to do some neat coil-tapping or parallel-voicing in Strat/Tele slots! Not my best pics, but hey, they work!

First (for me!) Fender Genuine Blacktop Jazzmaster Neck Pickup Pictures!

A black neck pickup from my Fender Blacktop Jazzmaster. I've dropped a USA Jazzmaster pickup in the neck, but to be honest, this one's really VERY good! Sounds just like the Jazzmasters I've played over the years. Very nice, maybe even a little hotter than usual, or at list a little crunchier on gain...

First (for me!) Fender Genuine Blacktop Jazzmaster Bridge Pickup Pictures!

This pickup sounds great! Very Fender-y and very nice both clean and dirty. Interesting, they could have used the splittable design, like they did in the Blacktop Strats with the nickel covers, but chose to make it simpler for the Jazzmaster...
Interesting: a new slant for Fender... these pickups are made by different companies than in the past? These look like the backs of some of the import pickups I've seen elsewhere, like those in Epiphones...

An EMG SAV Active Stratocaster Pickup Set in a Black Moto Fender Strat Pickguard!

Not a genuine Fender pickguard, but a nice one, plus a real EMG assembly. Very nice! LOVE SAVs. I have another set (much older and in ivory) on one of my happiest strats

Some White-Button Gibson Deluxe (Kluson-like) Tuners

Note: for legal purposes, these are GIBSONS, done in the Kluson style. These are not made by Kluson. I had them in a Grover box (talk about brand confusion!) for safekeeping until they eBayed... Nice tuners, really!

An EMG DG20 Pearl Moto Pickguard with MIM Fender Strat Pickups!

How about Some EMG HZs? Maybe some of those EARLY ones?

These sound awesome. Simple, well-made, made in the USA, and gotta LOVE those connectors. Switching them back and forth is a breeze.

I especially appreciate the epoxy filling and the brass main screw grommets. It's so much easier to thread and adjust these! Coil-tappable and phase-able, nice!

Always a pair in the parts drawer. When the supply dries up, I'll hunt like crazy for more. Lots of good projects have been done with these!

Epiphone Black Beauty Les Paul Custom Guitar Pictures

My Epi Black Beauty. You will be terribly missed! Someday, maybe another?

Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus with vintage DiMarzio Super-Distortion pictures!

This was one of my favorite Jim-customized customs! A super-nice vintage-looking Les Paul Standard with some old vintage DiMarzio Super Distortion pickups! Wow. What a player. It had all Gibson electronics under the hood, better tuners, and lots of attention to detail. Played many a gig with my son...

Epiphone Limited Firebird VII - Red - Pictures

This was an awesome guitar. I liked the vintage sunburst a little better (and kept the VSB one)... I sold the red one recently... But they're hard not to miss!

EMG USA DG-20 Stratocaster assembly on custom pickguard pictures

My custom-made black-and-red Gypsy bridge cut Stratocaster pickguard with a factory complete DG20 EMG USA assembly. Wow. Sounded great!

Fender FSR Straight 6 Stratocaster

I've recently purchased two Fender FSR Straight 6 Strats. One of which I have customized into a tribute to David Gilmour (I'll publish photos of my interpretation of my own "Black Strat" in another post in another time)... The Straight Six makes a nice basis for customized Strats...

These have great necks and frets, excellent body balance, a super-cool nitrocellulose finish (like my Highway 1 Stratcoaster), and that great Fender feel!

Here are some pictures of my second Straight Six, fresh out of the box!

So, let's look at some pictures!
